It is a stormy autumn day when, during a short vacation on Schiermonnikoog, we decide to make a beach walk. Schiermonnikoog is one of the Wadden Islands on the north coast of the Netherlands.

Although there are frequent showers, even the sun occasionally breaks through the cloud cover.
The spectacle of the late autumn afternoon sunlight on the wild, foaming waves is breathtaking….
