Morning breaks over the silent forest
Clouds of mist rise from the moss,
carrying the cold of a winter's night

On the threshold of spring, I walk through the woods early on a cold and misty morning. Shreds of mist rise from the ground, the day is beginning.

A forest in the mist is fascinating and mysterious. The silence and seclusion, beautiful diffuse light… It makes you walk more slowly and carefully, alert to anything that moves.

I made it in the beautiful old forest ‘Dover plantage’ near the city of Hurup Thy, North Jutland, Denmark. Tall, stately spruces in a planted forest, but fortunately they are not in boring straight rows….
