Seductive like the song of the silence in the night
A view on flowers like you have never seen them before...
Longing for that morning,
I remember the garden
where I used to walk
Alone among the flowers
as the sun rose
into a long summer day
A walk through a flower garden, early on a summer morning. Musing amidst the allium, is it a memory, or a dream?
Longing flower, gold
splashes on fragile
petals, dancing
in the sun's first light
It's early in the morning. A beautiful iris opens its flower and turns toward the sun. The petals bathe themselves in light, seeming to dance in slow motion.
Longing for that evening
I remember the garden
where I used to walk
Alone among the flowers
as the sun drowned
into a warm summer night
Weeks later, the allium has finished blooming. Her exuberant colors fade to an earthy brown, seed pods form where the purple has sacrificed itself so the seeds can ripen.
And then the seed pods open, the seeds slowly becoming visible, until the flower is ready to release them and the earth takes care of them.
Young flowers dance in a green haze of sunlight, a morning serenade in blue.

Holding on to my dream,
slowly
awakened by a
kiss of light
Time to wake up from another spring dream....
Spring is a time of amazement. Amazement at the speed with which plants grow, develop flower buds, form leaves. And from the smallest of seeds, in only a few weeks, a plant germinates, greedily seeking light, reaching for the sky.
Light drunken flowers
A swirling dance
in sun-drenched haze
Flowers of the Lathyrus odoratus (Sweet pea), seem to perform a whirling dance, drunk on sunlight.
Noonday summer dreams
when the sun uses her warm breath
to paint liquid flames
A honeysuckle flower in summer.
I find the flowers of the honeysuckle enchantingly beautiful. The soft colors, the sensual shapes, the lovely fragrance...

Flames from within
The sunlight warming our heart

My smile may be
smooth, inside I am
still wild at heart
The tulip. A cultivated flower, sleek and smooth, that doesn’t really appeal to me.
But even such a flower – perfected to human taste – must have a wild side, which we normally don’t see, don’t you think?
The results of a search to the heart of the tulip in 3 photos, an answer to the question if there is still something of the original wild variety in the flower as we know it…
Faded flowers of the Helleborus Niger. Photographed in the summer, the 'Christmas rose' is almost ready to release its seeds...

A plant of which I have made several series of minimalistic photos is the giant hogweed. The seed pods of the faded plant look like spaceships, ready to disappear into the light after they have released their seeds.
Withering flowers awaken, leaning
against the pale white morning light.
Untouchable, like a dream high in the sky
A quiet autumn morning in our garden. It seems to be a beautiful day, the sky is without clouds. The last flowering plants awaken, shivering in the chilly breeze.
I made this photo of the Prunus serrulata, the Japanese cherry, in the garden of the house where we lived in The Netherlands.
The Lathyrus latifolius, the Ornamental pea, photographed in the garden of the house where we lived in The Netherlands.

The flowers move slowly,
colors and scents mingle
The senses of summer
A warm summer day. Colors, scents and sounds blend into a slow rhythm that undulates over the land.
Nature slowly moves along with this summer song.
A flower, ready
for the morning sun,
to unfold and bloom
Tiny wild flowers, two of them already fading, one waiting to explode in beautiful colors...
