Early in the morning I am
alone, breathing
the cold remnants of
the night, thoughts
wandering in silence, waiting
for the new light. Your hand
brings me to the now,
caresses me, together
we walk into the day.
It's still dim when I wake up. I get out, I can't stay in bed. For a moment I go outside, it is cold. I enjoy the quiet first hours of the day.
Then you wake up. Your hand touches me, a warm embrace, a kiss. The day begins.

Pine Winds
Just one morning, sitting in a clearing in the pine forest.
The sun rises behind the trees, warming my back.
A chilly pine wind sings, blows the scent of moss
through the forest, spring is in the air.
Morning Light
Are you ever up so early that you hear the sounds of an awakening world? Even in winter, at first dusk, you can hear sounds of that part of nature that is not hibernating. The last nocturnal animals search for their roosts, the first birds wake up and make themselves heard.
And then comes the light, colors slowly become visible, shapes become clearer. Sometimes I sometimes think I can hear the trees stretching as soon as the first color hits their bare branches, just as I long for the first rays of sunlight of the new day....
In My Dreams (1)
Some people dream in color, other's in black and white. Many people are not sure, or hardly remember their dreams. I am quite sure I sometimes dream in surrealistic color palettes and atmospheres.
So do all people dream in her/his own palette, and/or does the color palette depend on what memories are processed ?

of a gentle spring breeze.
Timeless
Nothing, and no one, appears "just like that" in your life. There is always much to learn from both people, objects, situations and seemingly random circumstances.
In our new garden, among other things, a ginkgo biloba is growing. An extraordinary tree. Just before the dark days of winter, this tree lights up brightly one more time with its golden yellow leaves before letting them go. The ginkgo symbolises resilience, original life force and timelessness, among other things.
The triangle has been used as a symbol of spiritualism and enlightenment since the dawn of human civilization.

Waiting For The Moon
Birch trees in ice blue
dusk, leaning patiently
against the evening wind,
waiting for the moon.
A night is not a night until the moon is visible.
Don't you think that too, that a night is not really a night until there is a moon? A full moon or a tiny, fragile crescent moon, it is special if it is there.
And Then The Sun Stood Still - Winter
Winter solstice, the sun seems to stand still for a few days, before it turns towards us again. The light returns.

We walk together among the trees
as the sun climbs into a warm spring day
As we wandered through a beautiful dark spruce forest in southeastern Sweden on the edge of the Baltic Sea early in the morning on a cold winter day, the dark trunks of the spruces were suddenly kissed by the rising sun.

Lost In Moonlight
I walked in the woods, on a path I walked
many times before, completely lost in thought
not noticing that darkness was falling, that stars
appeared in the sky, that moonlight
brightened my path. A sound brought me
out of my musings, I was startled and looked up,
surprised to see that the trees silvery white
stood out against the darkness of the night.
A warm yellow light called me, far away
from behind the trees. I was in doubt,
should I go? Is it a dream or am I awake?

Many people dream of an earth that is safe and clean, that is treated with care so that it can give enough to all its inhabitants without becoming exhausted.
Only when all those dreams come to life in common sense and people take action to live differently will that dream become a reality.

The artwork 'Colorful Days' gave name to the small series 'Colorful Days'.
This series is an indictment of the greed for buying, the unbridled consumption that many people, living in so-called "developed countries," practice on a daily basis.
The works ask the viewer the question, "What have you done to preserve my color, to restore colors where they are fading, to bring more color into the gray world that people create around them and where there is no place for nature anymore."
They are a call to boycott the increasing number of "black days" like Black Friday, days that further fuel humanity's consumerism. They are telling you that living with nature, preserving and restoring nature, is only possible if Western man consumes significantly less. And what is consumed must be produced colorfully, that is, in harmony with nature.

Galaxy
What is an earthly mushroom on the scale of a galaxy? Less than a speck of dust on your windowsill... Not even the size of an atom in the infinite expanse of the oceans.
Yet they can be merged: the cap of a mushroom in our garden (a beautiful specimen from the genus Lepiota, image credits Anuscka), merged with a photo of a spiral galaxy (Image credits Nasa / Hubble) and in the background a circular transformation of an abstract photo I made of a sunset over the North Sea.

The Narrow Path
Early on this beautiful summer morning,
a walk takes me down narrow paths
I stop, look at the light spot at the end
and enjoy the rising sun
Thinking Of Light
Thinking of nothing,
slowly I walk through silence
towards the light
Is that possible, thinking of nothing? The moment you are aware that you are thinking of nothing, you are thinking again....
You can think of little, for example, by chanting a mantra in your mind. By focusing your eyes on something far away, without really wanting to see it sharply, and meanwhile thinking of one word....

A Glimpse Of Flight

The above stanza is from Laura Ann Reed's poem "As Clouds Before the Wind", and inspired me to make this artwork.
Laura Ann is a poet from the US, her work particularly appeals to me. Moreover, she is a very inspiring woman; I am fortunate to have a regular email contact with her.

Whether it is a cloudy or sunny day, open spaces in a forest have something magical about them. And the denser the forest, the greater the magic when you suddenly find yourself in a place where an abundance of light welcomes you.
