The trees don’t sleep at night
they drink the silence
and breathe the breeze
that rustles the leaves
until new light is born.
When you walk deep into a forest, you’ll find them: secret and quiet places, where almost nobody ever comes.
The wind and the sun play with grass and leaves, painting together a constantly changing scenery…
I sit on a stone,
on the east side of the pond
Staring at the water,
waiting.
Nobody understands why
All I want is to see how
the setting sun colors the garden
in the ripples
of a winter breeze.
I sit on a stone,
on the west side of the pond
Staring at the water,
waiting.
Nobody understands why
All I want is to see how
the rising sun colors the flowers
in the ripples
of a gentle spring breeze.

Winter solstice, the sun seems to stand still for a few days, before it turns towards us again. The light returns.
Summer solstice, the light is moving away from us. The days get shorter and darkness takes over again.
The last day of stillness:
the sound of a single sunbeam
coloring our day with wonder
Starting on the day of winter solstice, the length of the day is the same for about 12 days: no more minutes go off, none are added. That makes the 12 days after December 21, the silent days.

A bright morning arrives fresh and new
Pine trees lean toward the first kiss of light
We walk together among the trees
as the sun climbs into a warm spring day
Dreams wander
between the trees,
waiting, longing
to be reborn as
common sense
in a new time
Many people dream of an earth that is safe and clean, that is treated with care so that it can give enough to all its inhabitants without becoming exhausted.
Only when all those dreams come to life in common sense and people take action to live differently will that dream become a reality.

The artwork 'Colorful Days' gave name to the small series 'Colorful Days'.
This series is an indictment of the greed for buying, the unbridled consumption that many people, living in so-called "developed countries," practice on a daily basis.
The works ask the viewer the question, "What have you done to preserve my color, to restore colors where they are fading, to bring more color into the gray world that people create around them and where there is no place for nature anymore."
They are a call to boycott the increasing number of "black days" like Black Friday, days that further fuel humanity's consumerism. They are telling you that living with nature, preserving and restoring nature, is only possible if Western man consumes significantly less. And what is consumed must be produced colorfully, that is, in harmony with nature.

In a dream
you came to me on the silver
of a winter morning
Without a sound
you disappeared
into the light

Thick clouds of black
smoke darken the sun
Eyes tear,
trees cry
The sun colors the evening
in the hues of the flames that
eat tree after tree
How high may become
the price the future
will have to pay?
The first light
Slowly awakening trees,
for a brief moment
woven in liquid gold
A digital artwork based on a photo I made it at sunrise, standing in the drowned fields in front of our house in a very wet autumn about 8 years ago.
At dawn, the forest is full of sounds. The trees hum to welcome the day, the flowers open their calyxes, and their whispers float through the forest...
For a commission, I created a series of artworks from US painter Karina Mosser's painting 'Early Blooms' and my forest photographs in black and white.

and fills the sky with a new day

The day awakens,
my eyes slowly blend
the colors of the morning,
painting the world
ever brighter, ever sharper,
until the dream is gone
Purple hazes swirl
between the bare trees
This cold winter evening
welcomes a moonlit night
I sit on a stone,
on the east side of the pond
Staring at the water,
waiting.

[...] When she wakes
she lifts the shade, impatient for a glimpse
of flight: a sparrow, a swallowtail—
something with wings she can memorize.
The above stanza is from Laura Ann Reed's poem "As Clouds Before the Wind", and inspired me to make this artwork.
Laura Ann is a poet from the US, her work particularly appeals to me. Moreover, she is a very inspiring woman; I am fortunate to have a regular email contact with her.
Read more about her here on her website and the entire poem here.
I think you all know by now that I am not a screamer. But sometimes you just have to stand outside, look up at the sky and scream really loud...
The climate crisis is one such issue that sometimes makes me want to shout about it. Read more about this artwork here.

In the thin air of a cold winter day, the light silently fades behind the trees. The forest becomes silent.
Early in the morning I am
alone, breathing
the cold remnants of
the night, thoughts
wandering in silence, waiting
for the new light. Your hand
brings me to the now,
caresses me, together
we walk into the day.
It's still dim when I wake up. I get out, I can't stay in bed. For a moment I go outside, it is cold. I enjoy the quiet first hours of the day.
Then you wake up. Your hand touches me, a warm embrace, a kiss. The day begins.

At daybreak
The tops of pine trees
hit by sunlight
Early in the morning, it's quiet after a night full of mysterious sounds. Suddenly the first sunlight hits the tops of the pine trees, the forest awakes.

Alone, listening
to the fading day
The trees
give their yellow leaves
back to the earth
They know what I need:
silence
wrapped in gold
An autumn evening, there is silence in the forest. Yellow leaves gently fall to the ground. The sunlight wraps them in gold...

Stillness in your heart
The roots of a tree
in a November storm
In all the turmoil of the world, there are trees that remain standing perfectly straight. Offering protection and holding on no matter how severe the storm rages around them. Deeply rooted, connected to the earth and to the trees around them.
Find your tree, cherish it and hold on to it.

Pine trees in bloom -
A pathway into what was
The light of oblivion
A walk early in the evening in a beautiful nature reserve in Sweden. The sun is almost down, the last rays of sunlight draw flowers in the pine trees.

Silent forest
A tree hums
Dark sound
Forests often have an enchanting atmosphere. The silence that is enhanced by the murmur of leaves, the dim light, a creaking branch that makes you look around where that deer is hiding...
But sometimes a forest is like a fairy tale. Usually those are the rare moments when a few rays of sunlight manage to penetrate to the soft moss through a dense canopy.

Snow remnants melting
A soft breeze intoxicates me
The scent of a new morning
After a period of snow and frost, it has started to rain gently. The last remnants of snow melt, the damp forest breathes the wet fragrance of new life.

I stand still and watch,
as the pale light of dawn
silently dispels the night.
Early in the morning the light penetrates into the darkest corners of the forest. After every night, a new day arrives…
