It is quiet in the forest. The dense foliage brings coolness in summer, the impressive trunks of old trees provide protection when the wind blows hard. Time for a walk on narrow paths, deeper and deeper into the forest.

A sunny, warm spring day. It is quiet in the forest, not a breath of wind, no one to be seen. As I walk deeper into the forest, the young greenery closes me off more and more from the busy world. I walk on slowly, as if in a surrealistic dream....

A morning walk in a winter forest. The soft light conjures vague veils between the trees, like pieces of dreams floating into eternity upon awakening.
A Lonely Morning
Fresh snow, as far as the eye can see. The forest looks spacious, light, and larger than usual. It is quiet, and the world feels deserted. Only the muffled crunch of my footsteps in the fresh snow.

Just as I sometimes dream of spring or summer while it is still winter, I also sometimes dream of winter on a warm summer day.

The trees have almost completely lost their leaves. But on a sunny day they are decorated with a canopy of light, when a low sun is playing hide and seek between the branches.

Whirling winds of bright morning light
Blinding emptiness descends from the sky...
It is cold, the sun does not have enough power to warm the fresh breeze. The trees are still bare, but on many branches the first leaf buds are beginning to unfold.

We all know that spring brings new life to the unfamiliar forest, no matter how dark it can be there. New life, nourishing for everything alive.
Yet there is a fear of entering that unknown, that darkness.
But knowing we need that renewal, I set out. Will you join me, come after me?

Summer morning, the smell of a new day. I stroll along the path between sleeping and waking, I don't want to let go of my dream yet. A cool breeze moves the leaves of the trees, the sunlight touches my face.

Shelter for the cold

A dark, chilly and rainy day in May. At some point the rain comes pouring down. But luckily, a beautiful lane with a tightly tangled canopy of leaves provides shelter.

A beautiful spring day, early in the morning. I walk on a path between the fields, it is quiet, except for some noise of the wind and a few birds. The morning sun dazzles me a bit, the dark sides of the trees slowly glide past me. It feels as if I am walking through an alley of dreams that fleetingly present themselves to me.

Fragrance of Summer
A warm day early in the summer, it is windless. The dense foliage filters the sunlight. Birds sing, but are invisible in the golden-green light.
For this artwork, I used one of my own impressionist photographs and fused it with a fragment of an abstract expressionist painting by the Canadian painter Jules D .
