I wandered through a valley of silence
that nobody ever touched before
In the dark of the evening
her spirit awoke
and filled my dreams

I made the photos in this collection during a visit to the city of Bellano, on the borders of lake Como in Italy, for an exhibition in which I participated with 4 photos. While staying in an apartment in the mountains, high on the slopes above the valley Valsassina, I was lucky that after some heavy rain showers, the sun came out before it would set behind the mountains.

The spirit of the mountains and the valleys showed itself in all its splendor...

On the occasion of the exhibition 'El Duende' in 2017, I made two series of photos in the mountains near Bellano, Italy. When making those series, the theme of the exhibition inspired me. I went looking for the spirit of mountains and valleys.

Flooded Valley

Rain clouds flood the valley,
The mountains breathe quietly
As the night covers their sides.

Passionate Encounter

Fierce clouds are born
from a passionate encounter
between sun and wind

Veiled

A warm evening veil
covers the slopes of the mountains
and sunlit clouds evaporate
into the darkening sky

Caressing The Clouds

Cold mountains rise out of the rain,
watching the last rays of the sun
caress the clouds before darkness falls

Valley Of Dreams

The sun disappears behind the mountain peaks,
cold winds torment the valley
and awake the dreams of this night

Fading Colors Of The Day

With slow and tired gestures, the day depicts her last painting.
The night takes over the paintbrush, while preparing her own palette

Wings Of The Night

The night floats through the valleys,
slowly it soars
to the crown of the mountains

Awakened Spirits

The evening sun caresses the mountain peaks,
warm winds torment the clouds
and awake the spirits of the mountains

Silent Waves

The night covers the valleys
with a sea of clouds,
silent waves of rock keep watch
until the sun rises
