Harvest Dance

Sun and rain have done their work
Barnacle geese dance above the fields
The harvest has begun

August heralds the beginning of the harvest season. In practice, we have been harvesting in our vegetable and fruit garden for several weeks, but the farmers around us are now gradually beginning to harvest the crops as well. 

The geese welcome this time of year, plenty of food for them in the fields.

Gray clouds blown aside
The horizon glows, a fleeting
moment’s fragile promise

An intense gray rainy summer’s day, a day like it can actually occur here all year round. But then, a few hours before sunset, a bright stripe appears on the horizon. The wind blows from the sea, so this is a fragile promise for a sunny end to this day, knowing that a narrow opening in the cloud cover can be blown away by the wind in just a few seconds…

A pale morning sun warms the fields
Patches of nocturnal cold wander,
longing to become the breath of a bright new day

Early in the morning, a pale sun is fighting with thin, spooky patches of cold fog.

Loneliness Of The Mind

The wind is cold and swollen
by the breath of the sea,
passing clouds of thoughts
feed the loneliness of the mind

Floating clouds bring thoughts and take them with them again to the horizon. The rustle of the wind and the nearby surf gives a soothing tranquility.
It is wonderful to be alone for a while in this beautiful nature reserve.

Arrival Of The Morning

Dark Journey

Journey into the night
surrounded by darkness
accompanied by the wind

It is winter, dark gray clouds are being driven by a strong wind. The evening falls and it quickly gets dark. The birds are silent, only the wind that swings the branches of the trees back and forth and makes the grass rustle, is walking with me.

The Garden Of Thor

In Norse mythology, Thor is a hammer-wielding god that rules the sky; he governs thunder and lightning, winds and storms.

When I wander through the North Jutland nature reserves that lie just behind the dunes, I can imagine that these are the gardens where he can relax. Located in the middle of his kingdom, with some shelter from the hellish winds that regularly lash this coast.
