I am happy and proud to share with you three recent collaborations with Kari Trenten: Sources Of Inspiration, The Elements.
Besides my artwork, I added a few lines of Kari's text. Click the titles to read the complete blogs she wrote about the elements.
Below each artwork a few lines that I wrote about that specific work.
Sources of Inspiration: Fire
Passion. Anger. Industry. Inspiration. Fire devours what’s green and growing, leaving ash behind. From that ash, new life and growth quickens. Fire can warm and protect a home as well as destroy entire towns. Fire flickers and dances, kindling the imagination, hypnotizing us with its movement.
...

The fire that is the most important for me, the source of alle life…
Sources of Inspiration: Earth
Trees reach their roots deep in the earth. Wood and earth may be regarded as separate elements, yet they are linked. The ground seems so solid and separate, yet air, water, and fire come together in this element. Life is destroyed and created. Fire burns in the heart of mountains, meeting and exploding in a destructive force from which new life grows. Water nourishes the green, quenches the thirst of living creatures, eroding the rock, and being absorbed by the soil.
...

Reaching into the highest worlds,
drinking from the three wells
deeply rooted in the earth
Sources of Inspiration: Air
I have no wings, but when I think of air, I feel weightless. Often I’ve dreamed of floating, rising, letting go of everything and taking flight.
My thoughts, my ideas, my creativity take flight as well, unbounded, taking me where it will. Air feels like my element; an element in which all things are possible.
...

Cloudy skies at noon
A flight of geese
Dancing on wings
Of course there is a fourth element: Water. Kari already made a post about that, before we started to collaborate on this theme.

ALL WE NEED IS LESS CONSUMING
Through my posts I ask you to reflect for a moment on the nature around you, on the beautiful feeling that nature can evoke. Thus to think about your actions to support the wellbeing of the earth and everything that lives on it. And on what humanity loses when many of us continue on the destructive path of ever more greed and consuming. And please, reflect on how you can survive in this rapidly changing world…
