And early on a beautiful bright spring morning, I go outside and take a deep breath of the birth of a spring day...
Sometimes, thankfully very rarely, I can't get back to sleep after I've woken up in the middle of the night. Then I get up and go to the kitchen, get some hot water from the thermos and pour it into the leftover tea from the evening before.
While enjoying the tea with small sips, I walk to the window and look outside for a few minutes...
I love this tree, standing strong no matter the weather and season. Day and night, in darkness and in full light, it tells stories to those who take time to listen.
What do you do when it storms? Do you curl up on the couch with a book and a cup of tea? Or do you go outside during a "mild" storm?
I do the latter. I like to go out for a short walk in the open field, along a lake or on the beach, to feel the power of the wind and enjoy the constantly changing skies. After that walk, when I come home, I'll do the curling up with a cup of tea... 😉
The Western world is busy. Long to-do lists constantly hold us by the throat, and so we are in a constant hurry. The list needs to be checked off, but refills itself at the bottom as if by itself. Full agendas, an inexhaustible urge to soak up information, and the fear of missing something that others consider important causes us to be on the go from morning to night. Then we fall down in our beds, exhausted, and all too often sleep then refuses to come….
Everything in a swamp seems thinner, fragile almost, untouchable….
At the same time, it is not difficult to feel part of the landscape. The silence absorbs you, the mists make you feel like you are floating above the water.
So getting lost in the pale light is very easy when you stroll around for a few hours...
