Each of us can list some of the benefits of reducing your ecological footprint. Lower CO2 emissions, using fewer scarce resources... Or to not contributing to animal suffering in the meat and fish industry, contributing to a fairer distribution of what the earth can bear... And of course eating healthier fresh food for a healthier body…

Others have fear as their reason. Fear of changes in the weather; heavy rains and floods, drought and heat, much more and more severe storms…. Fear for themselves and their loved ones because they live in a vulnerable area, or fear for the safety of their offspring….

But have you ever considered that a low ecological footprint also ensures that you are better armed against bad times? For example, when food becomes scarce, when there are more and more drinking water shortages, when you have to do with less because prices are skyrocketing...
